Nikon Z6 III Leaked Image

Nikon Rumors has posted a leaked image of a portion of a camera believed to be the Nikon Z6 III. The authenticity is unknown at this time. The article is posted on March 31st, so I don’t think it’s April Fool’s Day.
Assuming that this leaked image is genuine, it looks like the “Z6 III” logo is hidden with tape on a test machine under development. However, the truth is unknown at this point, so we’ll have to wait for additional information (rumors).

I made an image of the right shoulder parts of “Z6 II“, “Z9“, and “Z8” side by side. The current “Z6 II” does not have a logo on the right shoulder, but the “Z9” and “Z8” do have a logo. The shape of the right shoulder part in this leaked image gives an impression similar to “Z6 II”, and you can see that the logo has been placed and the sensor position mark has moved to the left.
The Z6 III’s body design and control layout are similar to the Z8 and Z9, but the shape of the rear logo looks different. It’s hard to say with this much information, but if the image is genuine, it’s a new model with a different design from the existing Z camera. If so, we can expect a completely new body design from the previous Z6 and Z6 II.
The Nikon Z6 III is expected to be officially announced in April or May 2024.
