Leaked: Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art II Lens Specifications

Sigma is set to announce the new Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art II lens on May 16, 2024, introducing a range of enhancements over its predecessor. This updated model features 6 FLD glass elements, 2 SLD elements, and 5 aspherical lenses, resulting in improved correction of aberrations and sagittal coma flare. The optical design advancements have also led to a reduction in both size and weight, making the lens 10% lighter than its forerunner.
Moreover, the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art II lens boasts ultra-fast autofocus powered by an HLA motor, offering a threefold improvement in autofocus speed. This enhancement ensures swift and precise focusing for both still photography and video recording. Additionally, the lens incorporates an aperture ring with a click override option tailored for video use, along with an AFL button designed to facilitate vertical shooting. These new features, along with the inclusion of a zoom lock, contribute to enhanced operability and responsiveness.
In terms of specifications, the lens offers full-frame sensor coverage with an aperture range from F2.8 to F22. Its optical construction comprises 19 elements arranged in 15 groups, with a minimum focusing distance ranging from 17 to 34 cm. The lens is equipped with an 82 mm filter or cap diameter and is available in both Sony E and L-Mount mounts. For the Sony E mount, the lens measures 87.8 x 122.2 mm and weighs 735 g. The price is set at 1.349€.
