Fujifilm Announces Autofocus Enhancements and New F-Log2 C Mode for X-H2/S and GFX 100 II

Fujifilm has announced an upcoming firmware update for its X-H2, X-H2S, and GFX 100 II cameras, aiming to enhance their video capabilities significantly. In a recent YouTube video, the company highlighted that the update will improve the stability of autofocus subject tracking during video shooting, which is crucial for videographers seeking reliable performance. Additionally, the update will add compatibility with Ambient’s wired Lockit timecode synchronization devices, facilitating seamless integration in professional video workflows.

A notable feature of the firmware is the introduction of the new F-Log2 C mode, designed to provide a much wider color gamut than the existing F-Log2. This enhancement will allow filmmakers to achieve richer and more vibrant colors in their footage.

Fujifilm is also considering further enhancements, responding to a strong demand from its user base. The comment section of the announcement video is filled with users expressing their desire for similar updates for the X-T5 and X-S20 models and hoping for improvements in autofocus performance for still photography.

The anticipated updates for the X-H2, X-H2S, and GFX 100 II are set to be released in November, and users can stay tuned for further announcements regarding their availability.
