Now, fresh reports suggest Canon is developing not just one, but two new long zooms — and one of them could be the highly anticipated Canon RF 150-600mm f/5.6L IS USM.

Canon has been steadily expanding its RF super-telephoto lineup, ranging from the compact f/11 primes to the RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM and the flagship RF 1200mm f/8L IS USM. Adding a 150-600mm constant f/5.6 L-series zoom would fill a critical gap — offering professional reach and light-gathering power in a single, flexible package. A constant aperture throughout the zoom range would make it especially appealing for wildlife, sports, and aviation photographers looking for premium optics without stepping into the bulk and cost of fixed super-telephoto primes.
